Air Freight New Zealand –Cargo (AFNZC) is a provider of domestic airfreight services. It holds an exclusive contract with Qantas Airways for 737 domestic belly space, competitive freight rates with Air New Zealand through leveraging the spend of the Freightways group and the ability to provide oversize/overweight freight services via the Freightways Convair aircraft fleet.

AFNZC, as a broker of air freight services has 3 distinct service attributes:

Same-day services
Either aboard Qantas or Air NZ flights ARNZC can cater to same-day requirements either on the main trunk routes or the regional routes. This service will apply to:

1. Point to point courier companies offering same-day services.
2. International Inbound courier operators requiring an early morning delivery to major centres.
3. Companies with a need to move chilled or perishable goods or any other urgent type good or document.

Overnight Services
Either aboard Qantas or Freightways Convair flights. This service will apply to:

1. Courier companies offering an overnight nation-wide service.
2. Companies requiring an overnight APO to APO service. (Perishables can be held in chillers)
3. Companies requiring a door to door service (via Freightways delivery network)
4. Companies requiring an oversize/overweight solution. (Convairs or QF freighter)

Heavy lift and Charter Services
Either aboard a charter aircraft (Metro) or a Freightways Convair This service will apply to:

1. Companies requiring an exclusive same-day service.
2. Companies requiring a heavy lift capability.
3. Companies requiring a 6 tonne plus payload capacity.

Capacity aboard aircraft

Capacity aboard Qantas

1. Maximum weight per item: 50kgs
2. Dry Ice 
3. No animals
4. Goods to be lodged at airport 1 hour before departure of flight

Capacity aboard Air New Zealand

1. Maximum weight per item: 32kgs (heavier by arrangement)
2. Certain types of Dangerous goods allowed (extra fees apply)
3. Animals allowed (can only be shipped if no dangerous goods on aircraft)
4. Goods to be lodged at airport 1 hour before departure of flight

Capacity aboard the Freightways Convairs

1. Maximum weight per item: 750kgs
2. Maximum payload per aircraft: 6000kgs
3. Certain types of Dangerous goods allowed (extra fees apply)
4. Goods to be lodged at airport 1 hour before departure of flight
